this is a good technique but when i do this handwriting effect, i use a mask layer. the word is on the mask layer and on the layer underneath it, i shade a bit each frame. this way i dont have to reverse it when i’m done.

That’s a very good point. Pressing F6 is a much quicker way of inserting a keyframe and drastically speeds up the process of erasing the letters in your word.
