Great Tutorial as always, much appreciated. Could you do a more simple version of the same “loader concept” maybe just a vertical bar that fills in to 100% so we can get the basic concept of the process in a more condensed format and then work our way up to this. Thanks.

@dyinman – You are correct. The gotoAndPlay() did act funny due to it wanting to just play on. It was acting like it was choking in the onset of the load process using that function. Going forward and back a little. gotoAndStop is prefered.

He’s a YouTube partner.
Great stuff, even though I can’t really use it (because I don’t have flash.) I sat here and watched all of it anyways, lol. ‘Tis rather entertaining.

If the video were to gotoAndPlay, then once 1% had loaded, the movie would move to the next frame and then play the rest of the clip as if it were a normal movie, so the bar would just looked animated. Using gotoAndStop, then each time the movie advances, it will only increment the animation by the 1% amount. Then the next increment will only happen when the movie has loaded that extra percentage, (meaning his variable is now 2), which will correspond to frame 2.
Hopefully that’s understandable.
